A 3D piece of cake
3D modelling is a piece of cake! This week, Youth4Youth was delighted to teach the students of ESF South Island School, ESF Quarry Bay School and ESF Bradbury school how to manipulate size, texture and shape when making 3D models. Students learnt about real-life applications of this software in a variety of fields, including medicine, architecture, animation, gaming, virtual reality etc..
Students enjoyed exploring 3D Slash, a software that allows you to slash a cube using a set of tools to create a 3D model. We also taught the students how to create 3D architectural landscapes using SketchUp, a 3D modelling CAD software that is used by professionals in the industry. The knowledge of these skills and softwares was really helpful for students who are intending to take GCSE Design and Technology for their subject choices or go into architecture as a higher education pathway!
